Christian Escribà is the 4th generation of a pastry saga that started in 1906 located at 546 Gran Via street in Barcelona where it still remains as a centenary pastry shop. He was born on June 11, 1962 and is the son of Antonio Escribà, considered by many the “Wizard of Chocolate” for being a revolutionary in the art chocolate working. During his stay in France, at the age of 16, he won the Gold Medal at the Competition for Young Confectioners held in the town of Deauville. When he was 17, he won the First Prize for Best Artistic Sweet Piece in the contest organized by the Alimentaria Food Fair held in Barcelona. In 1980 he won two gold medals at the National Pastry Competition held in Valencia and Madrid. Christian would make known his work created in 1987 at the first Show Room Pastry in Europe where more undecided customers can see replicas of cakes and finished decide, and look where the newest creations. Christian is permanently working on creating new sweet pastry ideas. In 2003 presents candy jewelry: Candy Glam Rings. Pieces of sugar that have sold in 16 countries in 600 outlets. From 2006 to present he has been summoned to give his lectures in the best national and international cooking competitions. In February 2011 he was elected president of the jury of the national finals of the World Chocolate Masters. In July 2011 he was elected Ambassador for world firm Barry-Callebaut Chocolates & Chocovic. In October 211 was selected as a member of the jury of the World Chocolate Masters World Final held in Paris. In 2013 he pubished last Escribà book “The art of turning the pastry into Illusion” in which Christian shows the trajectory of the pastry, tradition and most important works of recent years in Escribà. He worked on behalf of Pope John Paul II and the royal family.
